Encased Fan
Converts Rotational Force to Air Currents and back. Has a variety of uses.
When Powered by Redstone: Provides rotational force from any heat sources immediately below itself. The fan has to be facing down.
When Powered by Kinetics: Pushes or Pulls Entities, depending on the incoming Rotation speed.
When blowing through special blocks: Liquids and Fire particles are emitted into the air flow. This can be used to process items.
Stress requirement: 2 SU per RPM (as component)
Stress capacity: 16 SU per RPM at 4 RPM (as generator)
The Encased Fan is a mechanical component added by Create that functions as a tool for moving entities and items, as a generator, and as an essential component for bulk washing, bulk smelting, and bulk smoking.
Encased Fans can be created through the following methods:

When connected to rotational force, an Encased Fan creates an air flow in the several blocks in front of it, which will either push or pull entities or items depending on the direction of rotation.
When an Encased Fan is placed facedown directly over a heat source (fire, lava, a Blaze Burner, a Campfire, or magma) and powered by redstone, it will provide 16 SU per RPM at a speed 4 RPM. This is tied with a Windmill Bearing attached to a single Sail as the most compact power source in Create.
When the air flow of an Encased Fan passes through water, lava, fire, a Blaze Burner, or a Campfire, the air flow downstream of the relevant block will apply processing recipes to items that pass through.
- Bulk Washing: an air flow containing water will apply bulk washing recipes, listed in the table below.
- Bulk Blasting: an air flow containing lava or a heated Blaze Burner will apply any smelting recipe that can be applied in a Furnace but not a Smoker.
- Bulk Smoking: an air flow containing fire, an unheated Blaze Burner, or a Campfire will apply any recipe that can be applied in a Smoker.
These recipes can be applied to items either in the world or on a Mechanical Belt.
Warning: passing incompatible items through bulk blasting, such as your tools or smoking recipes, will incinerate them. This can be disastrous if you're not careful, or useful for quick item disposal. Filters can help control which items get extracted to be bulk blasted.
