Supporting tray icons across Linux distros is notoriously difficult. We're currently using ComposeNativeTray, but it seems it doesn't play well with LMDE 6 yet.

I'll need some time to investigate and coordinate with the upstream maintainer. Thanks for the report.

I don't know if this issue should be closed, but the icon is functional in lmde 7 👍
