Planned Legacy support in future?

Any plans to create a separate branch that remains somewhat behind the original and up to date version, an alternative that will work and be compatible with some older legacy systems like Windows 7 for example?

This would be helpful for backwards compatibility when using older systems at times.

Obviously would require this alt branch to have some downgraded parts of the software to be compatible with more legacy systems - this I understand; now I also understand that this may not be planned soon if at all, but down the line if this could be done / achieved; that would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Since the UI Framework i am using is not supported for Windows 7, 8/8.1 - i am not going to do that either it might still work fine on older windows versions
