Template Request: Natural Selection 2

Module Request

Hey, I tried to set up a generic template for Natural Selection 2.
I got as far as getting the server to install and run. Sadly it is only playable in default settings - as I cant wrap my head around how to configure it the right way.

I confirm:

• that I have searched for an existing module request for this application.
• that the server is an official server distributed by the games publishers/developers.
• that the server is available to the general public.
• that the server can be run headless (without a GUI).
• I have already attempted to create a configuration myself using the configuration tool

Looks like you'd set XDG_CONFIG_HOME to the instance base directory so that the configs are written to the instance datastore - assuming the server honours the XDG spec

Tho of course the approach of these devs means that multiple servers will conflict, unless they are run in docker. Some devs are so lazy. You sure there is no command line flag to redirect where the config directory is created?

And why no windows configuration?

I wish I could answer you more in depth. But to be honest,
I only got so far by copy-pasting and trying to figure stuff out on my own.

I am not sure if there is no command line flag - I could've just have missed it.

And if your question is why I didn't do a windows configuration - its because I thought it wasnt needed as I am running my server on linux and wanted to get it working first.
Main reason why I gave up is because of my lack of knowledge-

Thanks man, I had a look and it works fine.
I struggle to setup the Games Admin Panel and still need to figure out how to install mods.
But it works perfect so far. Thanks a ton.

According to the wiki, the "modern" way is to specify the mods in MapCycle.json

I originally had the -mods and -mods2 command line args as settings, but the wiki says they are no longer needed
