Newest Download Not Finding My .nef files

I just downloaded RapidRAW after seeing a youtube video, hoping this would replace my Camera Raw workflow and it doesn't even see my .nef files. Is there anything I could be doing wrong? I dl'd it, installed it, went through the settings to add my lenses, etc. and went to open a folder...complete blank. And yes, I've confirme through File Manager that there is indeed files in the folder. My first assumption is that I've done something wrong. Help?

Operating system? You gave RapidRAW permissions for the folder?

I run Win 11, so I'm assuming I don't have to do that...i've never had to before, but I will try to check

Could you please insert a screenshot here showing RapidRAW open with the folder empty and Windows Explorer showing the files it contains?

omg...I would feel very silly and embarassed if I have ever had to do that before with any software I've ever used. Usually, the files just show up and I click on one and go ahead, or select all and proceed. Now that I've seen this and what happens afterward...okay. :-D

All good - happy it works now. RapidRAW contains a image browser / management, so you usually select a root folder and it will show all folders and images below this folder in a clean tree. The button itself says „Open Folder“ and not „Select Images“ so I thought that explains it enough. Might add 1-2 more hints in the future :)

LOL, probably a good idea... Hopefully I'm not the only incredibly silly person in the world. Thank you for your prompt help though, I really appreciate it. I was a professional photographer for 30 years before I retired about 5 years ago. I had been using Photoshop 5 (!) since it came out in '98? I just refused to buy a subscription, plain and simple. But it also did everything I needed it to do. Recently I forgot to disable it on a previous computer and Adobe finally told me that I had this installed on too many computers and I can no longer use it. It's amazing how useful camera raw actually was. So far you are the closest replacement I have found. Keep up the good work and I will probably have some things to say later. After I work with it for a little bit. Thanks again.
