I think dedicating yourself completely to web3 security seems like a good choice if you want to be a successful security researcher. Many successful security researchers don't even have a single master's degree, talkless of a second master's degree. But if you are passionate about your second master's degree, go for it, and you can come back to focus on web3 security when you finish that. I don't see smart contract security research fading out as a profession anytime soon. It looks like a profession that will be around in the next 20 years to come, So you can come on board whenever you are ready. |

Hi there! I'm currently doing a Master's degree in Finance (capital markets) and taking this course with some programming experience and some (outdated) web2 security background (was at OSCP-level knowledge). My goal is to specialize in blockchain security auditing. I'm trying to decide between:
--> Continuing with my plan to pursue a second Master's degree in Data Science vs
--> Dedicating myself completely to web3 security
What would you recommend for someone ultimately looking to build a career in blockchain security? I'd appreciate any insights or intuitive response. Thank you!
