Geomap Not Working on Safari and Lacks Responsiveness

Describe the bug

The geomap component does not function properly in Safari — it doesn’t load first time, the user needs to refresh the page. Additionally, the geomap is not responsive, meaning it does not scale or adapt well on smaller screens (e.g., mobile or tablet), causing layout issues or overlapping content.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to https://sandbox.dspace.org/browse/map on Safari and on mobile device

Expected behavior

The geomap should load and function correctly across all modern browsers, including Safari.
It should be fully responsive, adapting to various screen sizes and maintaining usability.

@kshepherd : Pinging you just to make you aware of this. Not sure if this is easily fixable or if this is a flaw of the package we are using.

Regarding responsiveness, it seems the map container itself has scaled to the small screen OK, but the popup I added for "no results" has not.

I wasn't aware of the Safari issues, I'm mostly testing with Firefox and Chromium-based browsers here but I'll look into this
