Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently, the item page in DSpace does not provide an easy way for users to generate or view the bibliographic reference of an item. Users who want to create a citation must either manually add the bibliographic reference to metadata fields or copy the item’s metadata (title, authors, date, etc.) and format it according to a citation style, which is time-consuming and error-prone.
Describe the solution you'd like
A “Cite” button should be added to the simple item page. When clicked, it should open a modal or side panel displaying the item’s bibliographic reference in multiple citation styles (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, BibTeX). This feature would work similarly to the “Cite” button available in Google Scholar, providing users with formatted citation text that can be easily copied.
Describe alternatives or workarounds you've considered
Users can currently copy the item metadata and manually format it using external citation tools (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, or online citation generators). However, this approach is inefficient and inconsistent across items.
Additional information
This feature would significantly improve the user experience, especially for researchers and students who frequently cite repository items.
