Brief summary

If the dGPU is deactivated (iGPU only setting), then set back to NVIDIA Optimus, Ubuntu no longer recognizes the dGPU.

How to reproduce

Have the laptop on NVIDIA Optimus mode while installing Ubuntu. Make sure Ubuntu is fully up to date and with the NVIDIA proprietary driver running.

Switch to iGPU mode.

Switch back to NVIDIA Optimus mode.

Expected behavior

NVIDIA is active; showing in System info and GPU temperature is shown in the NVIDIA control panel.

Actual behavior

NVIDIA isn't working: System info shows Intel Arc Graphics only. No dGPU temperature in NVIDIA Control Panel.

NVIDIA did start correctly after rebooting again.

There seems to be an issue with the GPU starting after a reboot from iGPU only mode. Unfortunately, without access to Nvidia's documentation, it's hard to debug this issue.

Reproduces on v540TND v1.0.0-rc10. In my case reboots were not helping. Re-flashing the firmware did help.
