Additional context

There is no strong indication this is a firmware issue. It might be an issue with Gnome or PTS,but the observation should not be forgotten.

It's probably caused by the CPU throttling on the higher power profile.

Since this issue came up late and there's a strong chance that it's in fact a Ubuntu/GNOME quirk, it'll remain a known issue for the current release (v1.8.0)
