Description
Sometimes I'm in a "Playlist mood" but most other times I'm in a "just throw something on from the library for listening" mood.
I'm accustomed to it working like this in fb2k:
- Single click to select a folder in my media library
- All of the song contents of the selected folder (and subfolders) instantly populate a dedicated "Media Library Selection" Playlist. Any previous contents of the playlist are removed and replaced with the new selection.
- I can also double-click a folder in the Media Library and the auto-generated playlist will start playing.
This streamlines the "browse-and-play" flow, removing the need to always create a new playlist any time I want to listen to something different (this is very cumbersome!) This selection playlist persists across runs of the program, so if I close and relaunch the player, I still have a list of what I was listening to previously, even if now there's no longer anything selected.
Other players like Spotify provide something similar, where a virtual playlist of sorts exists for whatever you're currently browsing and you can instantly play from there without the need to save the files to a new playlist first.
This functionality appears to be sorely missing from DeaDBeeF. Can something like this be added please? Or is it doable in ways that aren't obvious? Thanks
