Connecting wire sound plays inconsistently

The sound effect sometimes doesn't play. Even just disconnecting and reconnecting the same input/output a few times, sometimes the sound plays and sometimes it doesn't.

I've noticed this too. In the past I've also had sound player slots get stuck on root while disabled when they are supposed to delete themselves.
