!IMPORTANT! Oct 21st 2025 -- video downloads not working

I am aware of the issue where downloads are now failing for many people.
This is due to a YouTube/yt-dlp issue, which will soon be resolved by the Deno update for yt-dlp, please see:
yt-dlp/yt-dlp#14404
and
yt-dlp/yt-dlp#14680

Please do not create a new issue for this, it will be fixed ASAP.

The result of this is that you will see videos failing to download and if you run youtarr with ./start.sh --debug you will see this in your logs:
[2025-10-21 15:12:24.466 +0000] INFO: ERROR: unable to download video data: HTTP Error 403: Forbidden

This is temporarily fixed with the new release: https://github.com/DialmasterOrg/Youtarr/releases/tag/v1.44.0
I will need to update again once yt-dlp releases the "final" fix for this.

Note: With this temporary fix in place, most downloads should now work properly with some caveats:

1. Your choice of resolution may not be properly respected
2. It's possible that some codecs or videos may still fail to download until yt-dlp releases the final non-temporary fix.
3. I now propagate the 403 Forbidden to the FE if a video does fail to download, which should give better visibility into when a download fails.
