403 Forbidden - video download failures (2026-01-28)

I am aware that currently most (all?) downloads are failing with a 403 Forbidden.
This is a much broader issue with YouTube and yt-dlp, please see all the new threads on Reddit:

As soon as a fix is available I will update Youtarr
Until then this is a large issue affecting many YouTube video downloaders.

Fixed with the latest yt-dlp. Note that YouTube appears to be much more strict with bot checking now -- if downloading without cookies what previously working for you it may now require cookies.
