Add first-class "playlist" sources (treat playlists like channels)

Enable users to add and manage YouTube playlists the same way they add channels. This lets people track curated collections (e.g., “Best of 2025,” course modules, music mixes) and automatically pull in new items as those playlists update. Playlists should appear alongside channels, support bulk actions, show status/errors consistently, and avoid duplicating videos already in the library.

Note: This may need more thought. Should we add playlists as a special section OF a channel? Or should playlists be their own entirely separate thing?

From a user perspective having playlists in the "Your Channels" tab would be confusing. It would be better with a new "Your Playlists" tab to manage playlists.

I would think from an architecture perspectives channels are special cases of playlists. But playlists are not special cases of channels.

I'd like to echo - I'd like to subscribe to playlists similar to how I can for channels. I like to grab specific types of content for the kiddos without all of the creators content.

I think the key for me is having the correct artist tagged. Playlists could = collections?

Expanding more on how I think that might work I would expect each Youtube Channel to be a 'show' and each playlist could be a 'season'. Perhaps non-playlist are grouped in a single folder top level under the channel.

Wanted to echo the other's on this. For me personally, as much I have channels I enjoy, their are usually specific series that I would like to have and continue to get them that are in a playlist. For me, even just having the ability to download a whole playlist rather than each video separately would be good.

Echo this but for my YouTube user playlists. I would love Youtarr to be auto-download my Watch Later playlist (or since that is private, another YT playlist I make public) so that I can select videos to a playlist and watch in Plex.

Just started using this software and immediately wished it could handle playlists. So big +1 for that feature!

From an archiving standpoint, I would prefer youtarr keep everything in a channel folder. I agree with the idea of playlists being like "seasons". Ideally, I would prefer to maintain youtube's organizational structure, even for one-off downloads. And for clarification - in testing it appears that playlists are not supported at all, and only videos in youtubes top level are seen? Software is looking good but I'm hoping playlists are supported and I'm just not understanding the info. Thx!
