Why do I need an internet connection to create a new Dioxus project?

When I run dx new <project-name> without a connection to the internet, I get

   0.44s ERROR err=Other(Please check if the Git user / repository exists.

Caused by:
    failed to send request: The server name or address could not be resolved
    ; class=Os (2))

Why? What does dx new need an internet connection for?

maybe we should consider embed it in the dx binary, since it won't change frequently.
because in some places, just not very easy to access github
