Healthcare professionals must learn continuously as a core part of their work. However, as health and biomedical knowledge continue to be produced at an increasing rate, better tools to support healthcare professionals' continuous learning are needed. Tools for learning from clinical data are widely available in the form of clinical quality dashboards and feedback reports, but these seem to be infrequently used. A key challenge for health systems in using feedback reports and dashboards is to recognize when clinical data are useful as feedback for healthcare professional learning.
