Scan system and scan internal settings revert to disabled when app is closed android 14

Love the app but was wondering what the trick is to have my settings selections persist after closing the app gui. Realtime scanning appears to be active (as per a notification), all permissions have been granted, link scanner, scan app apks and scan internal storage persist, but if I select scan external storage and scan/system then close and reopen the app, these two have lost the setting just made.

App was installed from f-droid if that matters, on Nov 22 2024. Database update works as does manual scanning.

Please advise.

This is fully expected as those settings only apply to the manual scanner.

Ah, OK. Thanks for this. If those settings apply only to manual scanning, what exactly is the realtime scanner scanning?

The realtime scanner scans newly created or moved files in the data directory, eg. files you download or pictures you receive.
