Miss Match Version between Octobot and Tentacles ??

Step 2: Describe your environment

• OctoBot 2.0.12 run in Docker 28.2.2 under Ubuntu 24.04LTS
• All my Installed Tentacles are from [OctoBot-Default-Tentacles]
  • https://tentacles.octobot.online/officials/packages/full/base/2.0.10/any_platform.zip
    but I believe it should be: https://tentacles.octobot.online/officials/packages/full/base/2.0.12/any_platform.zip

Step 3: Describe the problem:

So I cant pass order on Binance

My Temporary Solution is

I commented the line 9
so the directory tentacles is loaded in the docker volumes

But when I look at my Tentacle Packages
I still have: https://tentacles.octobot.online/officials/packages/full/base/2.0.10/any_platform.zip while running OctoBot 2.0.12

I see 2 potentials issues

1. by mapping the directory ./tentacles:/octobot/tentacles; it potentially does not pull the new version of these files
2. while @Herklos is telling me that the version of Octobot and Tentacles should match and Im using stable; Im not the one who control what is in tentacles_config.json file.

Can you do remove the tentacles volume then run docker compose pull, docker compose up -d please?

yes I did it while I was chating with you in Telegram and mentionned in my Temporary Solution
and it fixed partially the issue

• as in OctoBot run and pass order

personally I dont need, add or remove tentacles so this directory can be ephemeral with the container
it's just it's not aligned with the docker-compose.yml you propose

my concern is;
even after...

1. commenting tentacles in docker-compose
2. pulling the new version
3. when I take a look in user/profiles/ at default profile that I never use, touch, look at

in tentacles_config.json

So I'm fine to admit the issue is on my side I just want to fix it; because this is the second update I have issue while I'm using the docker-compose.yml proposed in this REPO.

I would like to validate my migration process with you guys

to migrate my user profile (only the current and active) on the other instance; without exporting the issue with it...

• NOTE: my current and active profile is a duplicate from daily_trading which I only modified via the WebUI

so on the new instance I'll

1. duplicate daily_trading

which in tentacles_config.json "installation_context": octobot_version": "2.0.12"

2. copy the diff from my old duplicated daily_trading with the exception of 2.0.12 in my new duplicated daily_trading

It’s easier to understand your issue now that you mention you have a custom tentacle. The Docker version isn’t the most convenient in this case, indeed.

• The simplest way is to copy the old tentacle into the new tentacles folder after the update.

• The other way would be to create a tentacle package as described here: https://www.octobot.cloud/en/guides/octobot-tentacles-development/create-a-tentacle-package
