App Updates In An Environment with Apps Installed From Different Repos #1131

I have been using F-Droid Basic from which I have installed several apps. I recently installed Droid-Ify which comes with the F-Droid repo and the IzzyOnDroid repo enabled by default. As soon as the app updated, I started to get updates from apps I have installed from the F-Droid repo via F-Droid Basic app. The updates Droid-ify was offering me to install are from IzzyOnDroid. I find this odd as F-Droid sign the apps the publish and - to my understanding - IzzyOnDroid pulls the apps directly from dev's repos. Why would Droid-ify offer updates for F-Droid repo published apps? How can I prevent this from happening. My goal is to replace F-Droid basic with Droid-ify but I would like for the repo from which the app was installed from be the repo the installed app accepts updates from. If there is no way to accomoplish this then Droid-ify should implement the feature F-Droid basic has which allows you to set which repo is the one you prefer for apps. For example. You can add the NewPipe official repo and set F-Droid to only accept updates for NewPipe from the official NewPipe repo rather than F-Droid's repo. |

If F-Droid does reproducible builds and uses the signature of the upstream APK that's the same signature as what IzzyOnDroid will use and thus they're compatible. The F-Droid system has issues too, sometimes it can block all updates: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/issues/3084 :( |
