Long-term investigation into why interpolation between grids fails spinup stability checks

Dive in deeper to figure out why our interpolation scheme isn't working, I'd suspect it has something to do with differences in surface data (soil properties / depth) or datm forcing that the model is seeing at grid cells when switching between these grids?
