it's time to plan the community meeting for September. August was totally not skipped because I forgot but because of the holiday season! For sure!

Notes:

• @ledm is back working on ESMValTool for a new project (with @rswamina, @valeriupredoi and more) ! so we did a little introductory round
• @jlenh Talking about release, core has a release candidate, Tool feature freeze complete. VOTE FOR HIGHLIGHTS! Core Tool. Julia support dropped in this version etc, removed some horizontal regridding schemes, project specific configuration updates. Stale bot to deal with old issues/PRs that have not been updates for a long time!
• @bouweandela Talking about switching our linter from prospector to ruff. ESMValCore completely transitioned to ruff, codacy is also gone. For ESMValTool will stick with codacy for user-friendliness but switching linter from prospector to ruff. Timeline probably in a few months.
• @bettina-gier mentioned the next workshop dates: virtual 18-20 November 2025 focussed on documentation, headed by @bettina-gier and @lukruh; in person 11-13 May 2026 in Exeter, headed by @alistairsellar
• @bettina-gier also mentioned the goodies @hb326 is sending around to the main hubs soon!
