Switch branch name from master > main

main is the new default and e.g. tycho + m2e and other eclipse project have migrated so I wonder if we should simply do the same here? From what I remeber this is mostly changing the string in some build/deploy scripts... and GIthub even redirects old > new name.

Given a vote, I would vote no. After all I have a Master's degree and I hope that's not politically incorrect or offensive to anyone. 😬

I actually don't mind the name, its just that today I most often try to switch to main and wonder what the... then I notice its named master ... so its really just more to comply with current best practice/standards.

I use main for new projects and think main is a fine name:

But I also won't change it for any of my existing projects because I have better things to do:

https://github.com/eclipse-justj/justj/tree/master

I think how I treat people is more important than how I name my branches...
