Buzzard aims to provide an easy to use interface to the optimization algorithms in SciPy for parameter identification in finite element simulations. It is developed to work with simulations in EdelweissFE which makes use of the finite element and material routines provided by Marmot. Additionally, an interface to Abaqus is available.
