Ti60F225 TinyML Vision Example Design Issue

Hi, I am currently working on the TinyML example design which is the Ti60 yolo person detect and there are few issues that I faced during the execution. First of all before building the project, there are 200+ error message at the console as shown in the picture below

The second issue that I faced is that when I build the project (ignored the error message and built the project), I have tried to run the evsoc_tinyml_ypd project but the Mini-DSI Panel Display still shows white screen. For your information, I have checked the board functionality and executed the EVSoC example designs it works perfectly fine.

First of all, thank you for trying out our TinyML platform.

Regarding the error messages shown in the console, these can be safely ignored. They are caused by the RISC-V IDE not being able to locate certain header files. These headers are correctly included during the build process via the makefiles, so they do not affect compilation or execution.

As for the white screen observed on the Mini-DSI Panel Display, we have verified that the setup works correctly both with the combined bitstream and when running through the RISC-V IDE. To help debug the issue, could you please try the following steps and get back to us when convenient:

1. Program the board using the provided combined bitstream: quick_start/picam_v3/Ti60F225_yolo_person_detect_demo.hex
   → Confirm that the display is functioning (not blank).
2. Using the same provided bitstream (tinyml_vision/Ti60F225_yolo_person_detect_demo.hex), run the evsoc_tinyml_ypd application from the RISC-V IDE.
   → Check whether there is UART output visible on the serial terminal.

Hi Joo Jie,

Thank you for the response on this issue. I have searched within this github repository and I did not find any file directory (quick_start/picam_v3/Ti60F225_yolo_person_detect_demo.hex) that provides the bitstream as mentioned.

I have tried to generate the SapphireSoc IP and the hexadecimal file with the name of edge_vision_soc.hex using the Efinity. Then the bitstream is programmed to the Ti60F225 FPGA board and the result shows that the Mini-DSI panel display shows white screen, which is the expected result.

Moving on to the RISC-V Embedded Software IDE, I have tried to include the header file and run the evsoc_tinyml_ypd application again, the results of the terminal shown below. The output of on the Mini-DSI panel display still shows the white screen.

As for the EVSoC design, it works perfectly fine without the white screen issue on the panel display that I encounter.

All the required bitstreams are available in the release package:
https://github.com/Efinix-Inc/tinyml/releases/tag/efinity-v2025.2.288.3.8

You should be able to find the precompiled bitstreams there.

Thanks for confirming earlier. Could you please try using the combined bitstream from the release package?

From your screenshot, COM10 does not appear to be the correct UART terminal for the Ti60 Dev Kit. On a successful run, you should see the message:
“Hello Efinix Edge Vision TinyML” printed at startup.

Also, could you let me know which version of the Efinity RISC-V Embedded Software IDE you are using?

You may follow the steps in the user guide (Page 31) to import the project into the IDE:

From your screenshot, I also do not see the launch script, which should look similar to the following:

Hi Joo Jie,

Thank you for the assistance. I have attempted to try all of the step once again from generating bitstream, program the bitstream to the FPGA board, import the project with the launch script included, build and run the project in the Efinity RISC-V Embedded Software IDE. The output was still the same even I programmed the provided bitstream, the bitstream generated from Efinity (which is called edge_vision_soc,hex from outflow file) and even the bitstream that contained in the tinyml file but the Mini-DSI panel display still shows the white screen.

As for the UART terminal, I have confirmed that COM10 is the correct UART terminal according to the Device Manager. For your information, while I was executing the EVSoC design, the terminal shows the same output as shown in the figure above and therefore, I did not see the expected “Hello Efinix Edge Vision TinyML” at the terminal.

I am currently using Efinity® RISC-V Embedded Software IDE v2025.2.0.4 at the moment.
