The idea of using DeltaChat as a client for our decentralized mail sounds appealing and could make P2P mail more accessible. However, there are few technical nuances. Eppie already supports traditional email services (Gmail, Outlook, Proton Mail, etc.) via IMAP/SMTP, but the decentralized part runs on its own P2P protocol, which is not compatible with IMAP/SMTP. We do not plan a direct IMAP/SMTP interface for P2P mail, but we are working on bridges that will allow connecting P2P mail with the traditional email infrastructure. This could become the basis for future integration with DeltaChat, but will require additional efforts, possibly in collaboration with the DeltaChat team.

Since DeltaChat works with regular mail via IMAP/SMTP, you can already try connecting your DeltaChat account to Eppie as a regular IMAP mailbox. Eppie supports connecting IMAP/SMTP servers, which will allow you to use traditional email accounts in conjunction with our platform. This can be a temporary solution for combining the functionality of both systems.
