Issue displaying album cover with mpris

Hey all, I'm new to linux and swaync and haven't been able to figure out why the mpris widget won't display the album cover.
Here's the error that displays when I launch swaync manually:

Spotify seems to be providing the metadata.

I've also ensured that xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland is installed.

When spotify runs a notification which displays the album cover appears however the mpris widget appears to be stuck at default.
