Drawing "slightly" irregular hexagons

Question

There are three times when a user can draw a hexagon cell shape.

• From an area by dimension
• From a point by dimension
• From a point by time and speed

Currently when drawing hexagon cells, only the "Cell Width (x)" is active or honored. If we adjusted the width and height of a polygon wouldn't we still be able to create a grid using that shape? If so is that something we want to do? I personally have not heard this asked for, just a thought I came across while writing documentation.

if segment A-B =C-D = D-E = F-A and segment B-C = E-F couldn't we still draw a grid with that?

If we decide to work on this we can remove the question label and add appropriate labels, or if not, we can just close as won't fix.

The doc change that would be required for this is that in the documentation for area by dimension and point by dimension the doc states that cell height is not available but for point by time and speed it states that "cell height is not honored" ... would need to remove the "not available" and "not honored" bullets from documentation .... also the table for widget settings would need updated.

@dfoll - funny, I was just creating stretched hexagonal tiling patterns for a project this weekend (I created regular hexagons and then used the spatial adjustment tools to stretch them).
I don't know that there is a great reason to do this in search, rescue, or clearing operations (I was making a template for variable sized scales for a sculpture).
On the other hand, the existing tools do let us create elongated rectangular grids.
IMO, absent a user scenario/request, I think we should focus on other work.
