# Thank You
7+
8+
EuroPython has been organized by volunteers since 2002, driven by the passion and dedication of the community. What does it take to organize a conference? Let's go through it chronologically and tell you a bit more about the efforts and people behind it.

# EuroPython Society Board
14+
15+
Before the conference preparations even start, a board is elected annually. The board manages the day-to-day operations of the EPS, the non-profit behind the series. They're responsible for fiscal and legal work, as well as making the conference happen. That includes picking a location, finding a suitable venue, local lawyers and accountants, and finally building teams.
16+
17+
Since organizing a conference requires significant time and effort and can't be scaled indefinitely, they find leads and build teams of volunteers to work in different areas. Some teams require coordination, while others work independently.
18+
19+
The board members for the 2024–2025 term are::
20+
21+
- Anders Hammarquist
22+
- Aris Nivorils
23+
- Artur Czepiel (Chair)
24+
- Cyril Bitterich
25+
- Ege Akman
26+
- Mia Bajić (Vice Chair)
27+
- Shekhar Koirala

# Programme Team
31+
32+
Right after the location is announced, the Programme Team begins work immediately. Their first task is opening the Call for Proposals. They also manage the community voting app—did you know that the community has a say in which talks are chosen?
33+
34+
After all proposals have been reviewed, the team handles speaker selection, scheduling, and overall programme management. Because unforeseen circumstances often arise and speakers may cancel, the team continues working right up to and during the conference to support speakers.
35+
36+
- Cristián Maureira-Fredes
37+
- Diego Russo
38+
- Jodie Burchell
39+
- Marina Moro
40+
- Naa Ashiorkor Nortey
41+
- Rodrigo Girão Serrão
42+
- Yuliia Barabash
43+
44+
Big thanks to Cristián and Jodie for their outstanding efforts in leading the programme team and for making sure that speakers and participants have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
45+
46+
### Reviewers
47+
Once proposals are submitted, reviewers read, rate, and leave feedback. This helps us cover many areas and ensures high-quality selections by incorporating input from multiple people.

# Speaker Mentorship Programme
55+
In parallel with the Call for Proposals, we kick off the Speaker Mentorship Programme. It's designed to help new and less experienced speakers submit proposals and, if accepted, build their confidence and prepare their talks.
56+
57+
This team coordinated the Speaker Mentorship Programme:
58+
59+
- Joana Owusu-Appiah
60+
- Naa Ashiorkor Nortey
61+
- Theofanis Petkos
62+
63+
### Mentors
64+
Because the mentorship programme organizers can't scale indefinitely, the programme matches mentees with experienced mentors who provide feedback and regular meetings.
65+
66+
Here are all the mentors who lent their time and expertise:

## Discord Sub-Team
147+
If you have a valid ticket, you have received access to our Discord server where you can chat with fellow participants, speakers, or organizers. This team manages the Discord server, ensuring only participants have access and proper permissions.
148+
Huge thanks to Niklas Mertsch for leading Discord and bot management!
149+

## A/V Sub-Team

## Onsite Volunteers Sub-Team

Apart from volunteers, we also have a few trusted suppliers we work with.

Anežka handled communication with all suppliers, relieving volunteers and board members of logistical tasks. She coordinated with the venue, catering, speakers' dinner, social events, booth builders, t-shirts, stickers, and numerous other smaller suppliers.
214+
Without her support, we wouldn't have had the freedom to focus our energy on creative tasks and organizing fun events.

We are deeply grateful to Anežka for her invaluable work and dedication.
