Motivation
During the User Meeting of the neutron source MLZ several beamlines were introduced, among them NEPOMUC, which provides a high-intensity, low-energy positron beam. At NEPOMUC, the positrons are generated by pair production from the absorption of high-energy prompt gamma rays after thermal neutron capture in cadmium [1].
I think, it is important to include the positron research into PaNET, as these experiments are performed at the beamlines of large-scale neutron facilities, which is the current scope of PaNET.
