Leaf AFi-II 12 digital back - no metadata (but exiftool does) #3524

Hi - I use a Leaf AFi-II 12 (same as Aptus-II 12 but just branded different) digital back, and I'm having a tough time getting it supported in some open-source tooling.
One of my issues is that, for a given file, exiv2 does not decode any metadata from one of my files:
