Starting with ExpressLRS v4.0, an additional Arming method is introduced.
354
+
355
+
The default arming method, via Channel 5 (Aux1), is the default, and still encouraged to be used by majority of FPV pilots using Betaflight, INAV or Ardupilot (and their respective derivatives like Emuflight, etc.). This will now be called **Arming Mode CH5**.
356
+
357
+
The new arming method called **Arming Mode Switch** utilizes a switch on an EdgeTX radio. This switch can either be tied into a channel or not. What this means is that your Channel 5 will be free for other functions, like controlling gains on your stabilizer, or changing flight modes, or as another full proportional channel when using any of the Full Resolution Modes.
358
+
359
+
!!! Note "Arming Mode Switch Requirement"
360
+
Arming Mode Switch **requires** EdgeTX version 2.11 or newer. If you cannot find the "Arm using" option, that means you NEED to update your EdgeTX firmware.
