One idea that comes to mind would be to change the 'send at' field to "now", and click "Save these values as defaults". That way you could wire your habit to go through the scheduler work flow, and avoid the "send now" button altogether. Note that the effect of scheduling "send at: now" is that the message goes through the usual Send Later steps: saved to drafts folder, then picked up next time Send Later checks for scheduled messages, moved to Outbox, then finally sent. That means that it's not a true "send now", but the message will go out within the next minute or so, depending on your settings. |

This is a good idea. I'm going to track it as an enhancement request in #636. |

This issue should be fixed in release 10.2.0 of Send Later. To check what version of Send Later you have:
This release is not yet available for download from addons.thunderbird.net, but you can download and install it from its GitHub release page as follows:
Note that this is a prerelease. While we make every effort to ensure that prereleases are stable, they are a bit more likely to have bugs, so proceed with caution. If you prefer to wait, the release will eventually be available on addons.thunderbird.net, and unless you've turned off automatic add-on updates, Thunderbird will eventually update to the new version automatically. To update immediately once it's available:
Please let me know if you still see this issue in this release. |

If a user has "Send Later" enabled when "Send" is invoked from Thunderbird, the most common sequence for most outgoing mail is to click "Send Now" unless a specific delay is needed. If so, then the user will interact with the other controls.
However, the "Send Now" click often becomes a rote habit, making it possible that a user (i.e., me) will click on "Send now" mechanically instead of the longer custom delay bar. My suggestion is to set up a trigger (or an option for a trigger) that enables a confirmation pop-up if the user changes the default entries in the "Send at" area but clicks on "Send now" out of habit. Thanks!
