Description

If the trip or base standby is less than 60 TAFB:

  • The trip is assigned in leveling order (i.e., according to the number under “Level Hours” on the reserve level position list)
  • If two or more pilots have the same leveling position, assignments shall be made in reverse seniority order (25.M.6.a.ii).
  • The pilot must have a sufficient number of days to operate the trip.
    • i.e., A two-day trip must go to a pilot with two or three days of availability,
even if that means skipping a pilot higher on the list with one day of availability
  • You will be given the reserve assignment with the highest credit hour value for which
    you are legal.
    • i.e., two one-day trips become available, and there are two pilots with one day
of availability. One trip is worth 6:00 CH and the other 6:07 CH. The pilot with the least amount of leveling, meaning the one highest on the list, will get the trip worth 6:07.
  • What if both trips are worth 6:00? The Company has historically assigned the trip with the earliest show time to the pilot with the higher reserve level position.

If the trip or base standby is more than 60 TAFB:

  • The trip is assigned to the pilot whose availability most closely matches the duration of the assignment and in leveling order.
    • i.e., a five-day trip goes to the pilot with five days of availability regardless of leveling.
    • If no pilot with five days of availability is available, it’s assigned to a pilot with six days of availability or seven, etc.
  • If two or more pilots have the same leveling position, assignments shall be made in reverse seniority order (25.M.6.a.ii).
