This library is obviously not maintened:

• 47 opened pull request
• 135 issues
• it does not fully implement sessionToken which increase Google Places bill for anyone using it
• it does not work on latest react-native/expo version
• not first class typescript
• very legacy javascript code.
• bloated api

It might be worth flagging the repo as deprecated or at least adding a “looking for maintainers” note. That way, new users can be aware of the current state before relying on it. Just trying to help others avoid surprises down the line.

I do not think so, right now I am trying to make a patch so it works well on react native 80, because it has some problems, I think is best if you can to implement a version yourself with only react native. it is not that difficult

@Jorge-Luis-Rangel-Peralta yes that's what I did (again),(already re-implemented it in my last job). The title of this issues was not really a question or a ask for help/replacement, but more of a request to close the repo because I'm astonished by the number of person who still use it… I mean it's literally 2 api calls, and they are not even correctly implemented in this lib :|

All other things aside, this bullet point was never correct. It has always worked with the latest react-native/expo. Sure, some people had problems due to missing required default props, but it’s not accurate to simply say it doesn’t work.
