How to get PropertyWriters for a type?

Hello,

How do I get PropertyWriters for a type?
(or perhaps: What is the right way to get PropertyWriters for a type?)

In Jackson 2.x; I did this:

objectMapper.getSerializerProviderInstance().findValueSerializer(MyClass.class).properties();

In Jackson 3.x; I am doing this:

objectMapper._serializationContext().findValueSerializer(MyClass.class).properties();

The underscore and the associated JavaDoc indicate to me that I am doing something wrong. Lol.

Why?
I am doing some custom JSON serialization with a custom Annotation, so I use propertyWriter.getAnnotation(MyAnnotation.class)

I searched for open discussions and found this one that is close, but not exactly the same.

Can we zoom out a little bit share what the usage is? Why do you need propertyWriter?

Access is generally meant for in-flow access (during processing, within context) only, not from outside.

For external access different mechanism is intended: ObjectMapper.acceptJsonFormatVisitor(...)

But since this is coming up quite often, I wonder if it'd make sense to start exposing BeanDescription (sub-type BasicBeanDescription) for serialization/deserialization side.
It'd be worth filing an issue for, could be considered for 3.1.
