@logicsec @grapefizz I just went down this rabbit hole because of this thread, you need to fully disable SIP and edit some macOS asset files, I did a writeup here: https://github.com/ZimengXiong/osx-square-window-corners/ and just posted my setup at the bottom of this discussion. AFAIK editing the asset files are the only way to have semi-consistent styling across the OS rather than relying on per app support. It is rather finicky and I wish apple had a toggle for this.

I think that dotfiles to achieve this look are "lost media" at this point, the creator moved on to a different look. I would love to know if there is some colorscheme with similar colors for neovim?

I remember having an issue with Space Highlighting as well a while back. Don't forget to update your bar at the bottom or it won't highlight until you've switched spaces, if that doesn't work you can look at my sketchybarrc in my Dots repo to see if there's something missing maybe.

Another Nord-Themed setup. Lots of work to do to completely switch over to Sketchybar from previous solutions, but I’m quite happy with how things are turning out!

Thank you for the kind words! I spent most of this weekend taking a break from porting plugins and working on cleaning up my code. I also lack any kind of artistic ability so I just looked up some polybar themes and colored them with the basic nord colors. I use rofi/polybar/bspwm on linux and I’m just so happy I can get a similar set up on macOS with alfred/sketchybar/yabai!

Sketchybar is significantly more powerful than I had assumed at first glance, I’m definitely going to spend some more time writing plugins and making the bar more responsive to mouse events in the near future!

I'm really happy you liked my config! you can find my (current) dotfiles on my profile, please note that there might be (a lot of) errors, though. For example, I think I only reference the colors.sh file once and there should be a functionality for icons which I couldn't achieve ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That browser, Dia? Or something else like Comet. If it's not Dia I Def recommend Comet and no not Zed. Zed had the cheap feels sticking out everywhere. Off topic anyway that sketchybrunch is configulous

That browser is the Zen Browser. I've tried comet and Dia, but none offer the customization that Zen does (They are very handy, however)

Simple setup with:

• focused Aerospace workspace on the left, with current app
• Spotify now playing: italic if playing, regular if not
• battery indicator with Braille as percentage icon, with a number of dots proportional to the current charge
• current date

It also has dynamic colors with theme change, which for now are both white given the wallpaper.

This is my Sketchybar setup

Starting left:

• Apple logo. On click opening the original apple menu
• Collapsable Menu bar
• Aerospace mode indicator (either M for main mode, or S for service mode)
• Heavily inspired by the awesome work of @wolveix for the Aerospace workspaces + Apps shown in Sketchybar. As I did not find the time working myself into Lua, I let claude do the port from using shell processes to aerospace-lua from @acsandmann for more performant communication

On the right:

• System widgets (Cpu, Memory, Network, Battery, Volume) are quite default
• Brew outdated packages indicator where the popup shows the package names
• VPN icon. On click it uses osa scripts to trigger either wireguard or globalprotect. I don't like using the osa scripts, but it does the job
• Default calendar

However due to the loop over 15 items it felt a bit laggy, especially if you do it a few times in a row. Regex boostet performance quite a lot. My current version looks like:

I uploaded the config here, hope it still helps. The Apple Icon opens system settings and the bubble right next to it displays the current WindwManager Space. I used Aerospace but if you use yabai think it should be easy to adapt.

Does anyone have a good light-mod setup that fits well in the macOS design? Something specifically designed for light mode rather than a dark mode tweaked a bit to work in light mode too.

This one by @shahmilav with a frosted glass effect is a good start and pretty good-looking, but unfortunately it’s too basic and only has the strict minimum features which makes it not that great as a daily driver.

With mine you can actually choose a color theme that suits you. You'll just need to add a new configuration to the colors.lua file

I use https://github.com/cormacrelf/dark-notify, for nvim/tmux, and Ghostty terminal have dark/light by default, all other cli tools/TUIs, for themes catppuccin-machiatto/catppuccin-latte

I plan to do macOS glass effect theme mix with catppuccin pallet so I can use it in sketchybar

A simple and clean setup just information, I'm using Flash Space for spaces.

The color scheme can be changed by setting SKETCHYBAR_THEME environment variable.
Available themes: tokyo_night (default), rose_pine.
