Project DAVE may be installed directly on your host or run using Docker.

  • First check to make sure you meet the System Requirements.
  • Then choose from one of the following two installation options:
    1. Install Directly on Host: Instructions to install ROS Melodic, Gazebo 9, UUV Simulator and DAVE directly on your host machine.
    2. dave with Docker: Instructions to use Project DAVE through a Docker container, which isolates ROS Melodic, Gazebo 9, and DAVE from the rest of your host.
    3. Install on Windows 10 using WSL2: (Slow running) Native-like methods to install on Windows 10 (Update May 13,2021, MS develop team has finally released a GUI support for WSL2!! They even demostrated it using ROS-GZAEBO. Will pdate installation procedure later. link)
