Cant login (linux)

Bug description
Cant login to figma, steps:

• open figma and click "login with browser"
• webpage opens up and i login
• click on browser "Open the desktop app"
• nothing happens...

Had same issue, installed Chrome (.deb) pasted the link there, logged in and the "Open the desktop app" button worked. Also slack had the same issue, maybe its how Firefox handles the protocols? (slack:// etc.)

Ubuntu 24.04 here.

In my case the XDG MimeType handler is fine and this is what happens to me:

• open figma and click "Login with browser"
• webpage opens up and i login
• click on browser "Open the desktop app"
• click yes on "Open Figma Linux app?" confirmation dialog
• Figma Linux window is focused and "Loading..." spinner appears for a couple of seconds
• Figma Linux shows "Login with browser" again

Hey, KDE Debian 11 here.

I too have the issue of the "Loading ..." spinner then "Login with browser".
Tried the above xdg-mime workaround to no avail.

I bypassed it by logging directly in the app, found 2 ways for now:

• Using the link "Manage cookies or opt out" at the bottom of the landing screen.
  It opened the "Cookie Preferences" pages, both on a smaller window of the app in addition to my web browser. Using the smaller window, i could simply login like on a browser, authenticating my app
• Clicking on Figma logo, it loaded figma.com main page in the app window, allowing to login like on a browser too.

Both method persisted after restarting figma-linux, haven't yet tried if it persist across reboot.
