Ethernet Connection (Optris Xi80)

Hi,

I'm trying to use your python library to communicate with a thermal camera (Optris Xi80 ) via Ethernet. When I call tcp_init, it seems to start a connection but when I call get_thermal_image_size, the code remains pending and nothing happens.
Can you help me to solve this problem?

Hey,

Unfortunately, I've never worked with Optris Ethernet cameras. However, I do remember someone mentioning that they successfully managed to connect to an Ethernet camera using the usb_init method.
It may sound counterintuitive, but it is what it is. This package is just a wrapper of the C++ direct binding proposed by Evocortex.

I would suggest you try utilizing the usb_init. As explained in the doc, you should add the following values to the "config.xml" file:

  <ethernet_device>
   <device_ip_address>192.168.0.11</device_ip_address>
   <local_udp_port>50011</local_udp_port>
   <check_udp_sender_ip>1</check_udp_sender_ip>
  </ethernet_device>

Hi,

It works! But I had to perform an additional step because I'm running everything on linux.
It was necessary to access the pixconnect program on windows, connect the camera, and download all the calibration files (on linux the camera connected via ethernet is not identified by the irimage library commands, then the calibration files cannot be downloaded). Once the files were downloaded, I copied the files from Windows folder "C:/Users/{USERNAME}/AppData/Roaming/Imager/Cali" to the linux folder "/usr/share/libirimager/cali"
