Using a button beside the cursor and open a menu bar and add image after selection

Hello, this might be a trivial task but could not make it happen yet.
Once the user press enter and create a new paragraph, I want to display a menu button beside the cursor and some menu items. When action is done, I want to change the current node to the appropriate node.

This is actually how Medium text editor works. How can we do this?
