Weird question about Font-Awesome version that gives IE9 Support

Hi! I know this question is weird in 2025, but I am maintaining a HTA + Microsoft JScript program (a Windows way to build native web apps long before Electron and similars) which is a technology almost DEAD today. I want to add some Font-Awesome icons to this app to looks cooler/visually modern, which runs over the IE9 engine (Trident/MSHTML).

So, which is the best and last Font-Awesome version that fully supports IE9?

Hello, I would say 5.x, in its CSS implementation. otherwise v4 (which only comes in CSS) should work.
