Steps to reproduce the bug

I synchronize contacts with and without birthday entries. Those contacts with birthdays are synchronized correctly. But the calendar shows the birthday 12/30/1899 to all contacts without birthdays???
On PC I synchronize with thunderbird the same calendars without this strange behaviour.

• How did you add those birthday events? Were they added elsewhere, or did you use Fossify Calendar to import birthdays from contacts?
• Where exactly do you see this date?
• Do these birthday events also appear in other calendar apps such as Etar?

I use thunderbird cardbook for contacts.
In Cardbook you can activate a birthday calendar which generates a regular caldav calendar with birthdays.
This birthday calendar is displayed correctly in Thunderbird and Nextcloud.
Only Calendar shows 1899 birthdays for all contacts without birthday.

Could you please check that? You can download Etar from here: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/ws.xsoh.etar/ (or check with any other/stock calendar app on your phone).

I just installed it and yes, birthdays also appear in etar. Is it a Problem oft DAVx5?

Thanks for testing! Yes, the problem must be somewhere between DAVx⁵ and Cardbook. They wouldn't appear in Etar if this were a bug in Fossify Calendar. You may try to clean up that calendar and re-add the birthdays using Cardbook.
