Feature description

Functionality offered by https://github.com/IvanVolosyuk/diskusage is very useful for graphically finding files and directories that take up a lot of disk space and can be removed. See https://github.com/IvanVolosyuk/diskusage and https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.google.android.diskusage/

Personally, I use it a lot. However, the maintenance of this app is minimal. Perhaps it is better to have File-Manager offer something similar. Especially deleting (trash can) and moving files could be handled by existing functionality.

Why do you want this feature?

Quickly find large files and directories to delete or move to other storage to prevent the device to run out of free space or become slow.

Imo this seems a bit out-of-scope for a file manager, plus this functionality is basically already included in many Android forks. Eg. Samsung has their own similar feature that gives recommendations of folders to remove/consolidate and lists the sizes and locations of the biggest ones. I could see this being a separate Fossify app though.

On LineageOS, I havent seen apps like this by Samsung or other manufacturers. Only this in settings but is not practical when you have to find some large filed in thousands of other files.

Separate app would be fine too.

Why is not closed? The storage tab does exactly the same thing. Clicking on videos takes you on all videos, documents tab on all documents and so on.

Not exactly. This request is about a treemap chart where each folder is a rectangle and the area is proportional to its total size. You tap a rectangle to view the subdirectories (also represented as rectangles).

But I agree. The current progress bar per document type approach is good enough for this app. One can sort by size on the file browsing tab for a similar flow to treemap charts.
