Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Disable "Show notch if available"
2. Enable "Allow controlling photo brightness with vertical gestures"
3. Rotate device horizontally so that the notch area is on the left
4. Open an image
5. Try to change brightness using vertical gestures on the left side of the screen

Expected behavior

The verticals gesture for changing brightness works the same as in vertical screen orientation.

Actual behavior

Apparently, the brightness gesture area gets overlapped by the "hidden notch" area, making it almost impossible to change the brightness. It works only occasionally, probably because there are still a few pixels that not overlapped by the notch area.

Apparently, the brightness gesture area gets overlapped by the "hidden notch" area, making it almost impossible to change the brightness.

The gesture area gets moved by the notch area:

It'll work if you swipe on the (2nd) rectangular part on the left as shown in the above screenshot.

Therein lies the problem. Swiping the second (as well as the third on the screenshot) area on the left has no effect in my case:

I just figured out that disabling "Allow instantly changing media by clicking on screen sides" seems to fix the problem. So I think you can reproduce the issue with this option enabled.
