Total files count wrong with hidden folders

Steps to reproduce the bug

I have for example a folder with name XYZ with 6 visible items and one hidden folder (.thumbnails) which contains 8 files.

Viewing the properties of XYZ displays in the File-Manager app:
Direct children count: 6
Total files count: 13

In the gallery app:
Direct children count: 6
Total files count: 14

Expected behavior

Direct children count: 6

with either, for both Gallery and File-Manager:
Total files count: 14

or, when hidden files should be excluded for both:
Total files count: 6

Actual behavior

Total files count, File-Manager: 13
Total files count, Gallery: 14

After further investigation i think i found out how it gets counted.

The hidden .thumbnails folder itself contain 2 hidden files and 6 non hidden files.
Because the hidden folder contains also non hidden files it gets counted towards "Total files count", even when the folder itself is hidden.
The file inside also gets counted towards "Total files count".

Therefore:
6 visible items inside XYZ
1 hidden folder containing 2 hidden files and 6 visible files

6 visibile directly inside XYZ + 6 visible files inside the hidden folder + the hidden folder itself = 13

After even more investigations i noticed this issue also exists in the gallery app in the folder view and checking the properties there.
Is it possible to shift this issue to the "General-Discussion" section or should i create the issue new there?
