Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Export messages from settings, (first time exporting on both sms and mms are selected, toast : export is successfull, 👍 )
2. Inspect the saved json filesize, (file is only a 679.1k, I do expect above 160M),
3. Export again with only mms enabled, (toast : No entries for export have been found)

Expected behavior

SMS and MMS are reliably exported.)

Actual behavior

MMS db is not exported at all. Im unshure if the 679.1k file is a complete SMS db dump too.
Im also unable to wipe the application at this time and my last good backup dates 19.05.25 a 131.5M file, exporting and importing it worked as a side note in May.

Do you have MMS messages? It wasn't confirmed in your comment in #6.

Are you able to view those MMS messages in Fossify Messages or other messaging apps?

Yes plenty as its my work phone and yes I can view them. I dont use or have other messaging apps.

If you are not seeing any crashes, it's unlikely to help, especially because the exporter doesn't log anything.

Same issue, trying to export from a Pixel 6 Pro with stock android (latest version, updated yesterday). I'm trying to migrate to a Pixel 9 with GrapheneOS, and thought the exported file was pretty small. When importing, I'm only seeing SMS, no MMS. Went back and tried to backup a few more times, same file size. Then I chose just the MMS option, and got the same message ("No entries for export have been found"). Using version 1.2.3 (teehee). Flipping between that app and the main Google app, I see my messages in both places.

I can't test MMS myself, so I have no MMS messages. It would be good if anyone could debug and find out what's broken here.

The callback of this function is never executed, no matter if the thread has MMS or not. It looks like the query doesn't return anything.

Tested import just sms back today after wipeing com.android.provider.storage by accident and application locks up and couple of sms got restored. Will try grabbing a logcat later today..

Same here, seen with version 1.4.0. There are messages with photos on the "old" phone. Exporting SMS+MMS yields a JSON file of only 1.1 MB in size, and after restoring from it, there are no photos.
