Description
The idea is to have the ability to synchronize between two servers.
I had some thoughts of how it could work from a User perspective:
Step 0:
Have Account A on Server S1
Have Account B on Server S2
Be logged in on both
Step 1:
Open the synchronize Accounts feature on both accounts.
Step 2:
Copy the "synchronization link" from Account A on S1
Step 3:
Past the "synchronization link" into the Synchronize with filed of Account B on S2
Step 4.0:
Confirm the connection attamt from Account B Server S2 to Account A Server S1 on Account A Server S1
(for extra safety)
Step 4.1:
Now the Login prompt opens for Account A through Server S2. Log in
Step 5:
Choose between synchronization options:
- Couple (A => B and B => A)
- One way (A => B or B =>)
- One time
Step 6: Confirm and be happy, you can Change it at any time from both accounts
How would this be useful ?
Migration of a Makerspace Hosted or FPA Server to a Personal or the other way around.
Synchronization of Tool library like the nibbler bot, although this should work easier.
Additional needed features:
Organization Owners can disable this for any Data Associated with their Organization.
A tool Libary can be shared without having two accounts, maybe a public sharing link. Or a "synchronization link" on the homepage of the lens server.
Additional information:
"synchronization link" = A string that tells the Server where to Synchronize to, maybe Server IP or website name and user name.
