CONFIGURATION OF VESC CONTROL APP SETTINGS.

  1. Plug the OSRR Receiver module cable into the 7/8 pin UART port on your master VESC/Unity.
  2. Connect your PC to your VESC/Unity using a USB cable, open VESC/FOCBOX Tool and connect to the correct serial port.
  3. Go to General App Settings and set the control method to: UART
  4. UART App Settings: 115200 baud
  5. Go to the Nunchuk App Settings screen.
  6. Set the highlighted Throttle settings fields on the Nunchuk App Settings screen appropriately. Deadband & Throttle may be configured from this screen as well.

IMPORTANT: The Nunchuk app settings default the Positive & Negative Ramping Time value to 0.9/0.3s which is 3x the normal default. Please ensure you update these to a more reasonable value (ie: 0.3/0.1).

FIRST BENCH TEST

  1. Ensure your OSRR is fully charged.
  2. If your VESC/Unity is connected to the VESC/FOCBOX Tool, You can enable "RT App Data" and view the throttle input in realtime on the Nunchuk App Config page.
  3. Slowly ramp your throttle up to full, return to center. Test braking, etc.
  4. If remote & board are responding appropriately, go have fun on the road! Be careful! As with any hardware change, you should test slowly and deliberately and put safety above all else.
