Update the Version from homebrew project?

Is it possible to update the version that is from the homebrew project? I'm still on the black screen bug version, cause actually my TV is rooted and I can't seem how to update by other methods, I tried reading the guide on how to update via sshd method but I stopped the momment that asks to generate a key (where? how?). Can I just put the ipk on pen drive and update? Thank you
